I really liked the idea of a floor steamer (no chemicals) and bought this after reading countless reviews of the Eureka, Shark, Bissell, etc., and was very happy to find out that the product lives up to the reviews. Quick overview of my initial experience: -- Set-up was quick and easy -- Very clean results without streaking on tile (almost everything else we use has streaked our white tile) -- Had a little extra water on the floor -- so took a couple of minutes to dry in spots vs. the seconds it should take. However, this could be the same experience others write about regarding the first couple of times using the mop. -- Still getting the hang of the "right way" to move the mop (not too fast, not too slow), but it isn't hard to push. Still, a little paranoid about keeping it in one place more than 15 seconds (there is a warning not to do that because of the very high temperature). -- I expected to run out of water because I have a very large space to mop; however, I could do the job with one tank of water. That said, I did have to unplug/replug twice to reach everywhere, even with the decently long cord. I might use an extension cord next time. -- I like the adjustable telescoping handle for people of different heights. Will update my review if my experience changes, but happy with it right now. If the cord were a bit longer for my needs and I didn't encounter the extra water issue, then I would have given a full five stars -- this would be 4 1/2 if I could give 1/2 stars. Magic Pads Expensive   We have a 2500+ square foot house with all tile - so mopping of the floor on a regular basis became a real chore. We tried the Shark steamer and purchased extra pads because of the amount of floor that needed to be cleaned. The Shark steamer worked good but then all of sudden just quit working and it was not even a year old. So decided - based on reviews - to try the Eureka Enviro Steamer. I like the steamer but the 2 "magic" cloths that came with the steamer in no way will clean the entire house so I will need to buy more...and they are NOT cheap. Plus...despite instructions to rinse the pads out in the sink...this would NOT get the pads clean...I washed then in the washing machine...cold water and gentle cycle...and air dried them. They shrunk and so now I am without any "magic" pads and have tried substituting with everything from microfiber clothes, to dish towels, to hand towels, to cloth diapers....and NOTHING works very well except the "magic" pads. I should have done a little more research on the expense of additional pads - knowing how many I used with Shark - because if I had I would not have bought the Eurkea Enviro Steamer but would have just bought another Shark steamer. Not impressed with the Eureka Floor Steamer   After reading the rave reviews about the Eureka Floor Steamer I finally purchased one last November. I was so disappointed with the quality of the floor steamer: it's bulky and the side pinchers that attach the cloths are a poorly designed. Cleaning my floors have became even more of a chore since I purchased this floor steamer. My Eureka broke last week; I only had it for 8 months, and is not worth my time or effort to have it fixed. I'll be purchasing another name brand floor steamer! Doesn't do anything   This turned out to be nothing more than an expensive wet-mop. Barely cleaned anything on the tile and didn't clean anything out of the grout. Left water everywhere. My floors have never felt soooo clean!!!   I have tried EVERYTHING on my laminate floors. I live with my mop & bucket out. Four dogs, kids and a multitude of cats cause me to continually be washing my floors. This steamer is awesome. No chemicals used but my floors never felt so clean. Just walking across them is now a pleasure. Streaks, some-but I think I need to get more pads and learn to go with the woodgrain.
